Stumped Without You

This painting is a necessary part of my documentation of the current chapter in the history of the Canal du Midi.

“Stumped Without You” portrays a now common sight along the banks of the canal as the ailing trees are felled. In time the stumps are removed and gradually young trees are planted in their place, but for a few months these poignant reminders remain; empty plinths, calling us to remember what was.

Help replant a tree today! 🙂
